Getting around in the city by highway or local bus station

However, some residents do make the commute north to the Bay Area for work. Highways 1 and 129 border Watsonville. San Jose is 50 miles north, and San Francisco is 90 miles away. While most residents drive there is a bus transit center that offers rides on the Greyhound, Santa Cruz Metro and Monterey-Salinas Transit bus lines. Although there is a private airport in town, residents will need to head 25 miles south to Monterey for commercial flights.
