The annual Powderhorn Art Fair
Central's residents look forward to the annual Powderhorn Art Fair which takes place in the neighboring community of Powderhorn Park each August. Held outdoors, the fair has been a go-to event for over 30 years and features interactive art exhibits, food trucks and over 150 artists and artisan booths for exploring. Visitors can browse artworks in varied mediums, from clay to watercolors to handmade jewelry.
George Perry Floyd Square
George Floyd Square, located at the intersection of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue, is at once a historic landmark, a place of transformation and an ongoing memorial that commemorates the life of George Floyd and honors all victims of police brutality from across the U.S. Here, colorful murals with messages of non-violence and anti-racism span the walls of local buildings, gardens with both flowers and vegetables abound and a sculpture of a large bronze fist stands tall at the intersection’s center. On an average day, the square is abuzz with activity: hosting artists, activists and those pilgrimaging to pay their respects. Spurring the largest wave of mass protests in U.S. history since the Civil Rights era, the square is also known as the birthplace of the Black Lives Matter movement. According to the City of Minneapolis’s website, community stakeholders, local government and non-profit organizations are currently working together to honor Floyd’s memory and to redevelop the 38th and Chicago area for future generations, which includes re-envisioning George Perry Floyd Square, Peoples Way and the 38th Street Cultural District.

I live here and i think it has good food and grocerys and the people are kind and welcoming most of the time. the crime isnt that bad either and it is pretty diverse as well.
