Joey Conover

Born and raised in Downtown Charlottesville, Joey first became interested in urban planning in college while living in Spain, where she could live without a car and “third places,” eg cafes, bars, community centers, libraries, churches, parks, bookstores, etc are integrated into daily life. She learned to use a chop saw doing back stage theater and then built a cabin on the beach in Uruguay. She learned marketing, finance and project management while fundraising for the Legal Aid Justice Center and managing commercial construction interior projects, and then in more detail getting her MBA at the UVA Darden School of Business. She managed a construction business focused on modern energy efficient houses in the urban core for fifteen years (Latitude 38), and now maintains rental property that she and her husband built and renovated. Licensed as a real estate agent in 2014, Joey loves working one on one with her clients to find the best spaces for their needs in a town she loves, while also making the home buying or selling process smooth and enjoyable. In her free time, she acts as an advisor to her two middle school daughters as they take on the world in music, theater, biking, rock climbing and skiing.
