We recently relocated to Colorado from Illinois. When we began our home search last winter by exploring properties on Realtor.com, a multitude of realtors came out of the woodwork vying for our business. At the same time, we reached out a builder’s agent to inquire about a house that was under construction. Lee Richardson was that builder’s agent. Lee is also a broker. Lee answered all our questions about the house under construction, but he also took the time to get to know us. Lee was more interested in learning if this house was right for us. It was important for Lee to understand our goals, needs, living style, etc. He took into account my new office location so he could assimilate for me the type of commute I would be embarking upon based on location. Once Lee understood our goals, lifestyle, desired views, price range, commute, etc., he then began to share available properties with us. He did not just set up a search on the MLS. He visited properties to ascertain if our goals could be met. From a distance, it certainly made the process much easier.
When we came to town to embark on the actual purchase, Lee met us and served as our tour guide and area expert for 2 solid days. But, what sets Lee apart from other realtors are the following attributes:
•Lee always remains 100% objective. He has a solid poker face. His feelings about a property are translated into though-provoking questions. If he sensed that we were straying off-course with regards to our goals, he brought us back to Earth. He kept us focused during a period when we could have easily been swayed by the wrong factors due to high emotion.
•Lee, himself, has solid building and construction knowledge. He could easily point out building defects that were not apparent to us. He would point out simple things like the ceiling height of a basement that was not high enough to command the asking price. He brought a level of expertise to the process that many realtors do not possess.
•Lee respected our confusion. We went from wanting to buy a home to possibly buying a vacant lot to possibly renting. While Lee’s commission would have been drastically influenced by any one of those outcomes, Lee NEVER made the process about him. He always respected the direction we were on and helped maximize options. Other realtors would have walked away.
•Above all, Lee respected our needs, wants, desires and goals. He kept us on track, pulled us back when we were straying off course, asked the tough questions when they needed to be asked, gave his opinion when it needed to be heard but mostly, kept the process solidly objective.
In the end, we purchased a property that we absolutely love. Ironically, it was the first property we toured but it had ample competition over the 2 days that we were in town. When all our desired tours were completed, including all 2nd showings, Lee helped us sort our thoughts. He then helped us strategize our approach in terms of our initial offer and counters. Lee was 100% instrumental in helping us realize our goal.
During a one month period when we sold a home, bought a home, changed jobs, moved across country and sent our only child off to college, the stress of these activities, collectively, could have put us over the edge. But having an exceptional advocate like Lee on the back end was truly lifesaving. (Thank God the pandemic had not yet emerged!)
I have nothing but praise and gratitude for Lee’s exceptional customer service, friendship, advocacy and overall approach during the home-buying process. He never lost site of our goals. He played devil’s advocate. He made us look under every stone. He made us reflect on future resale and appreciation. He went above and beyond the typical call of duty. I highly encourage you to speak with Lee if you are in the market for a new home, new construction home or above all, if you are relocating to Colorado! You wont be disappointed.

Lee Richardson Has handled four (4) home and and property sales for myself and my family over the past two years. Including selling my principle home in Perry Park, CO. I have always found Lee to be professional, polite and flexible in his marketing approach. While being creative in getting me the deals done with both buyers and sellers. His data driven research has proven to be very helpful in making marketing adjustments when required. I guess to sum it up a GREAT GUY.and 100% sold on all transactions he represented for us. Lee never gave up in finding us our perfect home, even though we were so picky! He was a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable, low pressure and just a nice person in general. He made this process smooth and easy. I would highly recommend working with him and will absolutely use him again in the future.
