Matt Shoup

Matt was born and spent the early years of his life in New Jersey. At the age of 10, his family moved to Loveland, and he has been thrilled to call Northern Colorado home for the past 25 years. He attended high school in Loveland, and went on to study at Colorado State University in 1999. While there, his passion for business, entrepreneurship and Spanish was ignited. He was presented with two amazing opportunities while at CSU: one was to study abroad in Spain, which he did his spring semester of 2002; the other was to work for a college painting company during his college years.

After graduating CSU in 2003, Matt married his college sweetheart, Emily, in 2004, and they settled down in Northern Colorado. He quickly found out the corporate world was not for him when he was “let go” from a local bank. With the last $100 he had to his name, he founded M & E Painting in March of 2005. Over the years, M & E Painting has painted thousands of homes in Northern Colorado, and has been recognized as a Top Small Workplace in the US by INC Magazine and Winning Workplaces, as well as received recognition from the Wall Street Journal (Small Business, Big Innovation Award). M & E has appeared on the INC 500 list, Colorado Biz, and Mercury’s List of fastest growing companies in the country, state and Northern Colorado.

As a homeowner and investor, real estate has always been a personal passion and interest of his. Matt always dreamed of being able to wake up every day and do what he loves, never working a day in his life. Being part of the C3 team, and owning M & E Painting, allows him to continue to live his dream daily in the Northern Colorado community.

Outside of his professional and business life, some of his passions, hobbies and interests include: traveling with his family, practicing and teaching jiu jitsu, cooking and indulging in Spanish cuisine, staying physically fit, and serving at his church.

Matt likes to stress that above all of his hobbies, activities and commitments, his family always comes first. Matt loves to spend time with his wife and two children, Riley (9) and Hailey (6).
