This school is terrible. I was purely abused at this school by the other students and the teachers. This school downright sucks. I do not recommend it at all.

as a seventh grader who has attended martyrs my entire life, i can confidently say martyrs is a good school, however it is glaringly lacking in many areas. for example, some of the teachers are downright mean to the students. a teacher who will remain anonymous has made me and many other students break down right there and then at school. the grading system is flawed and makes it extremely difficult to achieve an a, which here is a 95.5; a+'s don't exist. the classes here aren't exceedingly difficult or challenging, however every teacher seems to grade their assignments differently. in the athletics department, i can't say i have had much experience in school sports, however i can say that there is a lot of pressure to be very, very good at what you do. the school is indeed very cliquey and many students are harassed and bullied by their peers. those who stand up for themselves are ridiculed further and the staff do nothing to prevent it. it is hardly a supportive environment socially.

Back when I went to this school this school was very poorly run. There was a lot of bullying going around and the teachers didn’t care. I would not recommend sending your child to this school if they are coming into a later grade as a new student as the kids that are already there will just be mean...

Our kids are so much happier since we left. The teachers, students, administration, and other families are so much friendlier and more relaxed at MBUSD.
