CRMS is full of caring teachers. Generally speaking, the school does things in a similar way as other schools in upper middle class districts. I don't see a ton of innovation or out-of-the-box thinking, but academically the kids do well. If your kid is into band or sports, there's a vibrant community for them. You don't hear as much about the other activities because, let's face it, Texas cares about sports the most. But there are other things like art, theater, journalism, etc. The main downside I see is that there is very little diversity (economic, religious or racial). And too many entitled kids and families. Overall I'm satisfied, but not blown away.

This is a good school and have great teachers

The band is great, Ms. Allison makes it feel like everyone is family. I look forward to it everyday. The teachers try really hard to make us engaged and interested. The students misbehave and don't listen but the teachers still try to support us. When I think of Canyon Ridge, it just makes me smile.

Although the school is very large, only a very select number of kids are allowed to participate in any activities. I was personally told by the vice principal that my son should sign up for the Gateway program. We followed the appropriate steps, went to the meetings and then found out that he could...

Canyon Ridge Middle School is an okay place. Though this neighborhood of Steiner Ranch is 100% spoiled, the teachers and staff aren't that bad. This school also has 75% strict and 25% freedom rules. You can wear whatever you want as long as it meets the dress code. It is not fun to hang around with...
