Noel Grisham Middle School was founded in 1976 and is named for Noel Grisham, who served as superintendent from 1957 to 1979. The school is located in the Anderson Mill neighborhood of Austin and has the area’s only International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. This academically challenging program is designed to “nurture the students’ capacity to have a global understanding of their role in the world.” Serving sixth through eighth grades with an enrollment of roughly 600 students, Grisham Middle offers the opportunity for students to utilize their “individual strengths for the acquisition of knowledge in a service in action environment.” The school offers multi-linguistics programs as well as cross-integrated lessons and integrated technology. Test scores for Grisham Middle are above average while student progress is at the national average. The school also offers a dance and cheer program, theater and fine arts as well as band and orchestra. The IB program has a focus on the whole person, meaning that the students enrolled in this program are encouraged to explore creativity, action and service through every part of their academic life.

I do NOT recommend... this school awful. The teachers are especially rude and unpleasant. The kids here are very rude as well and the entire community of this school is genuinely a disgrace. My daughter has thrived at this school, and is now well prepared for High School. This is one of the smallest middle schools in the area, and with that come some major perks. Teachers really know the kids, and my daughter has been able to easily ask for, and receive help when needed. Math and Scienc...

Great teachers! Incompetent administrators who coddle the troublemakers at the expense of students who actually want to learn. They think that is what "equity" means. So pathetic.

My experience at this school is definitely not perfect. There are a few little things that bother me at this school, but nevertheless I am always able to learn and keep my grades up. This school has its flaws, but I do recommend it.
