Joplin Elementary School sets and maintains high behavior and academic standards for kindergarten through fifth grade students. Teachers strive to prioritize state learning standards and goals. Students here have a wealth of interactive lessons and resources, including modern classrooms, a multimedia library, a cafeteria, a gymnasium, three basketball courts, a playground and an expansive recreation field. The school mascot, the Joplin Jaguar, inspires students to achieve academically and learn daily as they participate in classes, music and art programs, the annual science fair and holiday events throughout the school year. Students are also recognized for demonstrating good character in weekly assemblies and end-of-the-year ceremonies. Parents are welcome to be part of the active PTA that oversees school fundraisers and events, including the West Ada School Cleanup Day, Read Night and the school's signature garden harvest.
