Sharing a larger campus with Kyrene Middle School in South Tempe, C.I. Waggoner Elementary School serves more than 300 students in kindergarten through fifth grade as part of the Kyrene School District.
Founded in 1970, the recent A+ School of Excellence continues its mission to inspire children to become lifelong learners by helping them discover, create, learn, and grow together. With a dedication to incorporating STEAM principles into its curriculum, the school benefits by achieving test scores in reading and math that are far above the state average.
In addition to the classroom, students here can learn and explore while on educational field trips and adventure tours offered through the year to local attractions, ranging from the Phoenix Center of the Arts and Lowell Observatory to water parks and Chase Field.
Additionally, C.I. Waggoner students are free to compete in intramural sports including kickball and flag football, helping them foster team spirit and social skills.
The school also offers Kyrene Kids Club, which is a before- and after-school program, as well as plenty of facilities to help kids thrive. A few of these facilities include fully equipped music and art rooms in addition to a playground filled with playsets, basketball courts, and plenty of green space on which kids can run around.
