Cabrillo Middle School students are named Mariners, reflecting the school’s proximity to the coast. Located in downtown Ventura, the school is committed to kindness, learning and sailing to excellence. Cabrillo is known for its stellar music program, committed to developing and nurturing student musicians through education, performance and creative activity. The program’s shining star is a professional recording and multimedia studio. Developed with support from the community and volunteers, the studio features the latest in musical composition, audio, and video technology to students.
Physical activity is an integral part of the Cabrillo experience. Students are encouraged to participate in sports, including football and kickball. Additional extracurricular activities are available, including the Rusty Sailors robotics team, which has won several regional awards. The school also has an active parent/teacher organization that supports fundraising and activities.
