My high school is a little outdated compared to the other, newer high school buildings that our county went into debt to rebuild. We do what we can with what we have. Although others may see our school as dirty and gross, our graduating seniors have high rates of attending the most prestigious public universities and occasionally ivy league schools.

Hercules high school has great facilities such as guidance counselors, girl group, and boy group to provide for a very safe comfortable environment. However some of the teachers are amazing while others are not, Hercules has a good variety of classes such as a hybrid precalc/algebra 2 course as well as Advanced Algebra 2. Hercules also has a variety of resources such as EAOP, MESA, mock trial, etc.

Overall it was a good experience going to Hercules High School and I definitely benefitted from using the resources they provided such as the MESA (Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement) club and EAOP college readiness club. In my middle school years, I also really liked the band program and students of the high school band would frequently visit the middle school side and teach us how to play.

Everything is textbook based, until the teachers create a test with nothing you’ve learned on the textbook. The lectures were little to nonexistent and there isn’t anything to pay attention in class because it’s either going over your homework from the previous night or from the textbook. Had a secu...

My daughter is a junior at HHS and she rates the school a four out of five. She tells me she feels safe there, enjoys the happy, laid back atmosphere, and feels like those who care about their grades and want to get into a good college are getting what they need, more or less. There are good and bad...

Run to another school. The administration is a farce. The students unruly, the security guards part of the problem and the teachers aren't getting paid enough to care. Generally speaking of course. My experience with this school is totally negative from beginning to end. I will never encourage anyone...

This school really needs to refresh on how to keep kids safe there. There are always fights and the new principal just doesn't seem to have a handle on things. I preferred the previous principal, things just seemed not so hectic.
