Lawndale High School wasn't the greatest school for academics, however, you meet many people who have to settle for the same school and it turns out that these people are great and share lots of memories with you for however long you've known them. The teachers that I've had were excellent as people and as teachers in my opinion and I wouldn't want to trade them for anything.

School enviously is pretty good, lots of diversity and inclusivity. However due to the school not having enough funding, next year students are limited to 6 class periods. This puts a strain on students ability to complete a-g and graduation requirements. There are police officers and security on campus at all times.

Lawndale is pretty good. There are lots of clubs and activities students can join and very good academies to be a part of.

I am very concerned for mine and any child’s safety at this school. My child got bullied, called racial slurs and was harassed by the soccer team. If you're genuinely concerned about your child's education, I strongly recommend considering nearby schools like Mira Costa or Redondo Union. Unfortunately, this school lacks diversity and is predominantly made up of Black and Hispanic students, many of whom misrepresent their residency. A significa...

My son had the opportunity to go to an elite private school for free in Los angeles. We chose to go to Lawndale High School for their academies and their Sports program. We are so happy that we did. The academics especially in the honors and AP classes are excellent.
