Established in 1980 and named after a renowned statesman and one of the most prominent lawyers of the 19th century, Daniel Webster Elementary is a public school in the Long Beach Unified School District. Located at 1755 W. 32nd Way in Westside Long Beach, the school enrolls around 500 students and serves transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. Home of the Wildcats, the school’s mission centers around commitment, collaboration and character, creating a strong foundation for higher education and careers. Webster Elementary is known for its dual immersion program where students learn to read and write in English and Spanish. Half of the day is taught in Spanish, and the other half of the day, instruction is in English. Webster Elementary believes that “bilingualism is a bridge to success.” The program also teaches students to understand and appreciate the unique aspects of other cultures. The school provides a wealth of resources to enrich students both academically and emotionally, including literacy programs, math tutoring and a writing lab. Webster Elementary students sport the school’s light blue, navy, black and white color scheme in adherence with the uniform dress code.

I wish I could leave zero stars. Staff here can be described as combative at best and retaliatory after nearly any interaction. Any attempts to complain are brushed off and the student is punished for it. My child was attacked on campus, we were not informed by the school. The district did nothing t...
