Toland Way Elementary School serves kindergarten through sixth grade students in the Eagle Rock neighborhood. Originally opened in the mid-1920s, the school teaches core subjects along with a focus on global awareness. Its sister school, Morning Bridge in China, participates with the elementary school’s social programs. At Toland Way Elementary, it is the belief that “children learn best when they form successful relationships.” The development of relationships in education is encouraged through programs such as the Sierra Club or VEX IQ Robotics. Students interested in theater have access to drama study hosted by Los Angeles-based Occidental College. Students can participate in school-specific learning activities, including computer science. For physical education and sports, students can hang out in the gym, play volleyball, basketball or baseball, and join athletic sports teams. Parents can also participate in their child’s education and healthy development through the school programs Ready, Set, Read and First 5 LA. With so much to learn and so many ways to have fun — Toland Way Elementary School is an excellent option for a well-rounded education.
