Burke has been the only home I've known for the last 4 years. The AP system as well as most teachers are extremely supportive and have given me the strength I need to go into what I want to do in life. However Omaha Public Schools is killing the arts department which I have been apart of for so many years. The way OPS constantly doesn't see the value in it only preforming arts but the whole entire art department as a whole has been clear. We get the most accolades when it comes to music but we get the least one of support. Not from our admin but from the district as a whole. Our administration is one of the only ones who still cares and it is shown. I love Burke however, I am scared for what the future will entail.

Burke probably has some of the most underrated talented people working for the arts as well as students. However, I think the biggest problem is that the district for our school doesn't appreciate the arts, so we go overlooked a lot of the time and have to fund things ourselves. I'd really like to see a change in the budget for the art schools of the OPS district so that we'll be able to have the same amount of money and effort put into the sports here at Burke into the arts.

At Burke High, I've found a welcoming community that embraces diversity. Engaging in cross country and soccer, DECA, Clay Club, NHS, and Senior Senate has enriched my experience. These activities fostered friendships, personal growth, and opportunities for leadership, contributing to a fulfilling high school journey.

I went to Burke for a couple of months as a freshman. I repeated the 8th grade, I am far behind on my education.I am disabled. At the time, I was hardly diagnosed with anything. I have FND, I am autistic with ADHD.They don't care about the disabled people who have lower support needs. They thought b...

Great school for the most part. I am a sophomore attending and so far it’s been good. Although I have had some very strange issues with the special education classes. A few of my classes are near them and I also know someone taking special education. First of all I have seen some of the special educ...

i literally cannot stand going here anymore. i’m a junior in ap classes, and i have excellent grades, i love (some of) the teachers, but if i had the choice i’d leave burke high school in a second. first off, they recently implemented a phone rule which makes little sense - if you’re going to enact...

The amount of drama that happens at that school is insane. I can't even get to class without seeing some kid on drugs getting pinned down by officers, police dogs sniffing through our bags, the amount of fights plus multiple a day, all the "gun" threats we've gotten, and worst of all the fire drills...
