“All students can learn and be successful contributors to society” declares the mission statement of the illustrious Kyrene de los Lagos Elementary School. The school serves more than 500 students annually from pre-kindergarten all the way through fifth grade. There are several factors that make this public elementary school exceptional. It’s a dual language academy, so students are taught Spanish in addition to their traditional studies. Kyrene de los Lagos was also recognized as a School of Distinction for 2017-2018 by the Arizona Department of Education for its demonstrated implementation of six proven practices of civic learning. Additionally, it is an A+ School in the A+ School of Excellence™ program, a distinction that is known for creating stronger, long-term parent and community support. Kyrene de los Lagos has a widely known program called Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), which is a proactive evidence-based approach to establishing behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students to be successful. Kyrene de los Lagos is a part of the Kyrene School District, one of Arizona’s leading public school districts providing excellence in education for over a century. Kyrene has a stellar reputation for high academic achievement, with schools consistently outperforming peer districts, charter schools, and state averages on AzMERIT and other educational benchmarks.

It is a good school overall with a good staff and the principle who is in her 2nd year here is showing more leadership than the previous one and is present. PTO has been struggling but this...

My son has a math disability and the entire staff (I am talking about 6 staff members here!) has been remarkable and has contributed a GREAT deal in his success. I would recommend...

Teachers overall are very good, but design the class room for the middle. If your child is above that, pick a different school. My rating for th...
