Moses Brown School located at 250 Lloyd Avenue in Providence’s College Hill Neighborhood, is an independent, private school. Founded in 1784, by Moses Brown a Quaker and Abolitionist, the beautiful campus sits on thirty-two acres. Moses Brown School is one of the largest and oldest schools in the “Friends” network, in the country.
The campus serves students from pre-kindergarten through secondary school. Class sizes are kept small so that students receive individual attention.
There are many extracurricular activities available to students including performance groups, clubs, activities and athletic teams that compete in various sports.
Many of the campus buildings have recently undergone renovation. The Woodman Family Community and Performance Center is the focal point of the campus. Created to encourage of sense of community and connection, the building houses the innovative “Y-Lab”, where students are encouraged to imagine and explore technology. The Gorgi Family Squash and Education Center hosts student squash games, and the newly redesigned lower school features state-of-the-art classrooms.

Moses Brown has been such an amazing experience for our son and our family. the teachers are incredible, the culture is welcoming and there is amazing school spirit. The extracurriculars are top notch: athletics, music, drama and all club/interest groups are popular and well run. The school has become a home away from home for us. We feel lucky to be an MB family.

I graduated from Moses Brown School in 2015 and do not have enough fantastic things to say about it. I still have relationships with my teachers and friends and even went back last fall to coach JV Girls Soccer and substitute teach. It is such a wonderful and welcoming community and I am so grateful for my time there!
