My experience at Avalon has been a good one. even after only 2 years, I have found my people, and 2 years might seem like a lot but it's relatively short for me. It has been filled with highs, lows, and everything in between. Sure maybe you will have to endure a lecture or two or maybe you will regret joining the Nordic skiing team but it's worth the journey you take the people you meet and what you learn. Avalon's independent study program is amazing and works wonders on a kid as they feel at the center of what they will learn and what they can do. This journey is a long but amazing and educating one and where you will land can be a little of a grey area but the chances are endless.

Very welcoming environment, it is truly a community. Students are allowed to be them selves and explore educational subjects that appeal to them, with a basis that is guided by an advisor. We are very happy with avalon and grateful to have found it. It has changed our child's life.

Our son just completed his first year at Avalon HS and despite the disruptions of 2020 he had a great year, learned a lot, and grew immensely. Avalon's curriculum and approach to student-directed learning corresponds very closely to our family's values.
