The Harker School is a great school, as its curriculum is 2-3 years ahead of the standard curriculum in public schools. It offers a wide variety of courses which helps when pursuing a certain path - something many children at this school have already decided.

Finding the delicate balance between rising tuition costs and the ongoing expenses required to attract and retain top-tier and engaged faculty is a significant challenge. Moreover, the current teaching and learning models, coupled with an undiversified environment, may not be nurturing the creativity essential for the new era. As a parent, I am concerned.

of course it's great, people wouldn't be paying $60k/year if it wasn't. facilities, teachers, food, opportunities are all amazing imo, but don't send your kids here unless they already have a strong sense of self-esteem and are taking calculus in 9th grade. otherwise, they will feel stupid because the environment is horrible. you will constantly feel stupid because kids two years younger than you are taking the same class as you and you're already taking a college level, post-AP course. people will talk behind your back about how dumb you are and then act like they aren't the problem. people here are also horribly clique-y, will never be your friend because of the competition, and make you feel worthless. with less than 200 kids per grade, its hard to find anyone you can connect with who isn't a victim and perpetrator of the toxic environment. nearly everybody here is very spoiled, which makes everything i've previously said INFINITELY worse. conclusion: don't send your kids here.

I am a Lifer (K-12) alumnus. I would never put my child through what I went through at Harker, and every peer I have stayed in touch with feels the same. Harker's current head, Brian Yager, is one of the worst leaders I have ever witnessed, of any institution -- a remarkable lesson in what NOT to do...

It would be an understatement that Harker is a great school. In all my experience only Harker has the learning resources and teachers to truly advance your child in academics. I attended Harker for 13 years K-12, which is easily the best school in the bay. Harker is known for unrivaled programs and...

For lunch a school that markets themselves as a STEM school they have failed to use technology to communicate with students, parents, and staff. The school has 3 tracks for kids for math and language arts but they are not based on academic performance but the child’s executive functioning. The schoo...
