Established in 1955, Washington High School has been teaching students since Phoenix had its first housing boom in the ‘50s and ‘60s. Needless to say, it has been an institution growing as fast as the city itself! Today, as part of the Glendale Union High School District, the school teaches more than 1,800 students in grades nine through twelve and is often ranked as one of the top high schools in the state of Arizona. Students at Washington High School consistently achieve test scores above the state average in reading and math, and more than a quarter of students pass at least one Advance Placement Exam. Aside from a rigorous academic curriculum, Washington High also offers career and technical education courses, an English Language Learner program, special education, family/consumer sciences, and visual and performing arts. As far as extracurriculars, students can further explore interests in bowling, chess, creative writing, garden club, and a fanimation club, among many others. When it comes to revving up team spirit, Washington High has a robust athletics program with great facilities on campus. Aspiring Washington Rams can participate in badminton, cheer, football, volleyball, golf, tennis, and even more. The school is never short of activities that allow students to find outlets for fun and building relationships.

Overall a good school when it comes to academics although Parent involvement is little. additionally the teachers a great but no so much for faculty

My experience at this has been up and down. When my regular schedule due to me being a sports guy, I was able to have the opportunity to have Advanced PE to help relieve and also other opportunities like the opening of Boys Volleyball where I could endeavor into something I'm passionate about.

My experience with the school itself is great. The teachers are nice for the most part, but the higher faculty has inefficient ways of disciplining students. For example, they prevented all students from using the restroom for months.

Never had any support or guidance. A few weeks before graduation, I wad told I was half a credit short. Never graduated. Terrible school.
