What the housing market is like in Brigadoon

The neighborhood offers a mix of older ranch-style homes and 1970s townhomes, giving the area a lived-in character that many buyers prefer over newer, more uniform developments. Home prices span a broad range, with single-family homes typically selling for around $1 million to $2.2 million, while townhomes range from the upper $600,000s to the lower $800,000s. Townhomes throughout the neighborhood tend to feature stucco facades, flat roofs and simple square layouts, reflecting the era in which they were built. “The older homes and neighborhoods in Evergreen were built around the 1970s — as you go farther east up into the hills, you’ll see newer properties,” says Kimberly Leal, a local Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Silicon Valley. “A lot of these older neighborhoods are seeing a transformation as more people decide to buy homes there so they can renovate and update them.”

There are two schools in the neighborhood, John J. Montgomery Elementary School and Silver Creek High School, making it easy for local students to walk or bike to school. “The schools are a big draw,” says Realtor Angie Nguyen of Wonder Rates, who works frequently in the area. “They have good schools, but the home prices aren’t as expensive as in other parts of San Jose.”
