Athol High School has solid core classes up to calculus and advanced english, but as a suburban high school, AHS struggles to offer opportunities in areas such as clubs, music, and some sciences.

The worst education in Massachusetts. We had to move out of Athol for better schools. My child was refused IEP testing for 18+ months until a new director of special Ed realized it should of been done and what happened to them was illegal. Stay away at all costs! Do not buy a home here if you have kids in school. The local police force is awful as well.

What I liked most about school was those great teachers who were actually passionate about their classroom and students. They are one in a dozen and fortunately I had been lucky enough to be part of their classrooms.

It was so sad to watch all of the adults and leaders involved in running Athol High School focus more on the removal of their schools mascot and even the moniker more than their students, grades and education.

Nice building, the leadership does not take responsiblity for the issues. They claim to be working on improvement but I see no action. I do believe that they just show up for their paycheck. I would rate my experience at this school as a scar inducing nightmare. The emotional toll that it had on me was devastating as a teenager, and was an experience that I'll never be able to forget.
