McMillan Elementary School has built a reputation as a quality pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade magnet academy in Boise's West Valley neighborhood. For nearly two decades, the educators at this Title-1 school have successfully empowered students to learn at high levels using well-researched instructional practices, and student performance is above the state average in math, reading, and science. McMillan Elementary School's mascot, the eagle, inspires kids to be kind, diligent in their work and strive to achieve. McMillan Elementary's 230 acre campus offers a wide range of resources for young learners, including modern classrooms, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, a library, two playgrounds and an expansive recreation field. The school's comprehensive language immersion program ensures students have ample opportunity to achieve bilingual fluency and cultural diversity is embraced in each day's lessons. Students love the many themed holiday and spirit school events, including the annual McMillan School Fun Run. Parents are welcome to participate in the parent-teacher organization that oversees fundraising efforts and service projects, like the annual West Ada Community Cleanup Day, where kids and parents work hand in hand to make their schools shine. A dedicated teaching staff goes above and beyond to communicate and support every child that comes through the McMillan Elementary's doors.
