Established in 1999, Burbank Community Day School is an alternative magnet school in the Burbank Unified School District. The school enrolls a small number of students and serves grades seventh through 12th. USD Community Day offers a unique school environment to support students struggling to thrive in a traditional school setting. The school's philosophy has assisted the teachers and staff in creating an environment that promotes good decision-making skills and boosts students' self-esteem. The long-term goal of Burbank USD Community is to help students get back on track and reintegrate into a comprehensive traditional school. Burbank USD Community Day assists students in coping with everyday life situations and offers traditional academic studies of math, reading and science, as well as intervention programs such as anger management and drug prevention, art therapy, character education, team building and mentoring programs to fulfill the school's mission. The school, ultimately, works with its students to give them the best resources it can provide while also educating and helping them grow.
