Joe Shoemaker School is part of the Denver Public School system that serves early childhood education through fifth grades. The school is named after the former state senator (1962-1974) who established the Auraria Higher Education Campus, led the cleaning of the South Platte River and Cherry Creek, and founded the Greenway Foundation and the Foundation for Colorado State Parks. At Shoemaker, student success is measured by their academic achievement, quality of work, and evidence of engagement. The faculty and staff believe that all children flourish when their natural curiosity is triggered and each student can benefit from a learning experience that capitalizes on their strengths. Shoemaker focuses on Expeditionary Learning (EL Education), which was a collaboration, created in 1993, between Outward Bound and the Harvard Graduate School of Education and 10 partner schools across the country. EL Education commits to making classrooms where teachers create and achieve goals, and students attain more than they realize. Today, the program serves 165 schools across the country, with over 53,000 students enrolled. With a high-level commitment to their students, an 80-minute outdoor educational break, and the confidence that how and where children learn are just as important as what they learn, it’s no surprise that many parents choose Joe Shoemaker School.

I have had consistent awful experiences with the front desk. My daughter is In Kindergarten and has many challenges.
