No matter WHAT your child's passion, strengths, challenges are -- this school will nurture them, and they will flourish! We toured *literally* every LA school, and the passion of VM's teachers, and their genuine concern for kids, shone through. We are so lucky to be here. For the STEM-minded kids out there, this school is one of the best in LA, due to: 1) Usage of Phillips Exeter Academy's math program: Exeter is one of the most famous private schools in the US, and they teach math in a different way... emphasizing deep, creative understanding vs. mere "drill & kill". 2) Sciences: Instead of 1 year each of physics, chem, bio, VM combines 3 years into 2, letting students specialize / take AP in 11th, one year earlier (many APs offered) 4) My kid was shamed by a teacher at a prior school for being "a bad writer". At VM, the passionate, caring humanities teachers are supporting their writing skills, and transforming their self-esteem in the process. 5) Culture of kindness!!!

The small community and campus as well as the small class sizes helps me feel connected and supported by my teachings and peers.

The school is extremely well-tailored to the variety of interests for their students. The school would benefit from a more diverse school population.

As a parent of a new student, I was extremely disappointed with our experience at this school. From the start, there was no sense of inclusivity, and my child struggled to feel welcomed. The school provided little support in helping students adapt, especially when it came to adjusting to new teachin...

RUN, don't walk away from Vistamar School! If your student has the opportunity to attend another school, take it! Don't believe what they advertise. Awful experience. The teachers and administration don't care about struggling students who just came through a traumatizing pandemic. MANY staff member...

Great school with a vibrant and welcoming community. Love that lunch is provided every day for all students! Strong academics in a supportive environment- not overly competitive.

Awful experience. Teachers don't care about struggling students. Assistant head of directors is rude and an awful human being. Bullying is definitely ignored.
