As a freshman, I haven't had any bad experiences at Lawndale High School. Lawndale is very rich in culture and arts, it embraces multiple cultures with food, music, and arts. All the teachers are more than willing to help their students, and there are many facilities and resources if help is needed.

Lawndale High School wasn't the greatest school for academics, however, you meet many people who have to settle for the same school and it turns out that these people are great and share lots of memories with you for however long you've known them. The teachers that I've had were excellent as people and as teachers in my opinion and I wouldn't want to trade them for anything.

Overall, I would say that my high school experience is not one to remember. The only "best" parts of my experience were meeting friends. I would like to see the school include more minorities especially black students and clubs. I've see favoritism shown numerous times towards other clubs and students who were of a different race/ethnicity other than African American or Black.

If you're genuinely concerned about your child's education, I strongly recommend considering nearby schools like Mira Costa or Redondo Union. Unfortunately, this school lacks diversity and is predominantly made up of Black and Hispanic students, many of whom misrepresent their residency. A significa...

My son had the opportunity to go to an elite private school for free in Los angeles. We chose to go to Lawndale High School for their academies and their Sports program. We are so happy that we did. The academics especially in the honors and AP classes are excellent.
