Alliance Tennenbaum Family Technology High School was established in 2011 and after just 5 years of operation, was ranked in the top 10% of all high schools in the nation by US News & World Report. The school has now held that distinction for 6 consecutive years. Alliance Tennenbaum is a public charter school that aims to personalize its curriculum to meet the needs of its individual students. Part of the school’s philosophy includes a longer school year and a longer instructional day. Students at Alliance are offered free after school tutoring and early college dual enrollment opportunities. Special courses emphasizing math, science and technology are available. The school, which is a part of the Sonia Sotomayor Arts and Sciences Academies, offers grades 9 through 12 and has an intimate enrollment of around 370 students. The enrollment number allows for small class sizes, which the school administrators believe is key to their personalized approach. Alliance Tech has a 4 year high school graduation rate of 94%, and of those graduates, 99% meet UC & CSU college entrance requirements. Part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, Alliance Tech sits right in the middle of the Glassell Park neighborhood on one of its main streets, San Fernando Road.

usually each class is very small like each batch is small so it easier to get know everyone. Also most of the teachers are understanding if your situation as long as you talk to them. It also easier to get help from the teachers.

Experiencing high school virtually was very hard in the beginning because I started out as a freshman/9th grader and not having prior knowledge about the school or the teachers or students made it hard to learn. But I did love that alliance took the extra mile in helping scholars when failing or not understanding the material. Alliance is a wonderful school the only thing I would change is seeing everyone in person.

I love being a student at Alliance Tennenbaum Family Technology High School. So far this is my third year at this school and I've learned so much. The staff are amazing and are always there to guide and help you in any way they can. Although this may be true, my school could be more involved in the arts and music department. There are not a lot of clubs that involve either of these things and it would be amazing if they included it.

Dr. Nunez, Ms. Chavez and all the teachers and staff have been a positive influence in my son's education at this school. For parents who are tired of substandard education and excuses from teachers and administration of the typical traditional high school, give Tennenbaum a try.

TennTech is a great place for our young. The teachers are amazing and truly care for the students. It's still growing, but no doubt, a great choice.
