Castelar Elementary School is one of the oldest and continuously operating schools in Los Angeles. Sometimes called “the lighthouse of Chinatown,” the school was founded in 1882 as the Castelar Street School, a four-room schoolhouse with over 300 students. Today, Castelar Elementary serves over 600 students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Starting in middle school, select students at Castelar Elementary participate in a dual language program in Mandarin, which forges an even stronger connection between the school and the Chinatown neighborhood. The school offers a blended learning model and online curriculum, which includes instruction in the core subjects of math, science, language arts and social studies. Castelar also partners with EnrichLA, a school gardening program which teaches children about the life cycles of nature and healthy living. On top of a robust academic curriculum, students enjoy supplemental classes in music, art and physical education. The school’s mission is guided by a belief in the equal worth and dignity of all students, with a commitment to help each child reach their maximum potential. At Castelar Elementary School, students adopt the skills and values they need to succeed. Hence the school’s motto: “Be safe, be respectful, be responsible.”

I'm curious that why nobody stopped it at that time. Where were the teachers? And where did the scissors come from?Next day , The tea...
