Colt Pride runs strong at Deer Valley Middle School, a public school for grades 7-8. The school strives to remove limits so learners can become leaders. As a member of the Deer Valley Unified School District, the core curriculum centers on science, mathematics, language arts, and social studies. Various electives complement learning by expanding the student’s understanding of the community. A Social-Emotional program educates students and their families about mental wellness throughout school life. A Safe Schools plan is in place district-wide to create a positive and safe environment for all students to attend. Gifted Programs are available for accelerated learners. Special Education is onsite. Competitive sports are central to campus life. Both boys' and girls' sports meet seasonally throughout the school year to enhance the body and mind. Art club includes crafts and painting, Student Government enhances student life, and the National Junior Honor Society celebrates academic excellence and prepares students for high school. Clubs aid in learning for the more hands-on students. The Deer Valley Unified School District maintains a continuous improvement plan and parents are encouraged to provide feedback on how to make the community space of Deer Valley Middle School more competitive and welcoming for neighborhood students.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The administrator needs to be fired. She is racist and unfair. She shows favoritism to specific groups of staff and students. She sets people up and tries to get them fired. She rolls her eyes at people.

I am extremely proud of this school and campus staff. As a full-time volunteer at DVMS, I have observed 2024 as the year of camaraderie with respect and excellence. Under the helm of Principal Utter, there is purposeful forward momentum at DVMS to improve not only test scores, but personal growth an...
