Many residents of Providence are surprised to know that Downtown Providence's Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts has roots in the Dominican borough of South Providence. In 2007, Trinity’s founders asked community members what they felt was missing in the city's school system. As a result of those conversations, a new school with a focus on the arts was born. Trinity opened its doors to a small class of 34 students in the fall of 2010 and has since grown to serve over 200 students in seventh through 12th grade. Located right in the center of the “Creative Capital,” the school fits perfectly into the artistic community of Providence. The goal of the school is to cultivate unfettered creativity and an artist’s mentality among students. Trinity’s nationally recognized performing arts program allows students to study core academic subjects in conjunction with an Arts Pathway curriculum in film, dance, music and theater. The school’s interdisciplinary curriculum provides workshops hosted by visiting artists and dual enrollment classes at local colleges and universities. Teachers encourage students to view art as a catalyst for learning and healing. However, they balance their nurturing teaching methods with a strong stance on artist resilience, reminding students that despite setbacks and failures, the show must go on.

Not every student is perfect but not every teacher is perfect as well. Everyone grows up with different self values and different ideas of what struggle is. Sometimes teachers fail to see the hurt behind a students smile or sadness. Same goes for the student. There's is only a number of student i know would go up to a teacher and ask them if they are okay or hows everything if they need anything. and maybe that;'s were the student teacher bond needs to be created.
