This school is known for having a "bad reputation", but I enjoy this school, specifically for the academics and extracurriculars. Students including myself have been able to advance in math and Spanish. This is also an IB school that provides the IB DP and IB CP or even SVCTE for students with different goals. In fact, SJHS has an amazing robotics team that has competed at the world championship 2 times in a row (so far).

The best experience I had was getting to know my teachers and becoming close with them and being on the softball where I formed a bond with everyone. The worst experience I had would probably be the administrators not preparing me (when I was a sophomore) for the IB courses. Overall I believe my school is pretty good, teachers care for students and the coaches for sports are really there for the team no matter what.

I feel San Jose high is best academically. They've helped through a lot as far as making up credits that I didn't earn. I just think that the school somehow lets some kids run over them and just feel as if they need to learn how to control the bad kids.

My brother went to UC Berkeley and graduated in the IB program, now he is doing his Masters. I graduated with an AA and BA degree. We are both very successful and have great futures because of the opportunities that San Jose High gave us.

My son entered in 9th grade (2017) and has had a great first year. He's looking forward to the IB Diploma coursework, which starts in 11th grade. He's LOVING the robotics program - he spends about 10 hours a week (after school and weekends) in the Robotics lab with a great group of older students. H...

My son is a freshman here this year and he loves it! He likes to be challenged by his teachers and learn in a well-disciplined environment. He really feels he's getting both of those things at this school. Not only that, but he feels safe. San Jose High is a small high school with an engaged staff a...

I'm a student at sjh and I can tell you that the only reason that this school gets all its 'hype' from is the IB program. That's it. Gangs. Drugs. Graffiti. A normal class that does not include IB or Honors, has about5% of students learning. The rest, well that's there future.
