An intimate campus with less than 100 students makes Dan M. Isaacs Avalon High School, known as Avalon for short, an excellent place for high schoolers to excel. Primarily focusing on offering course credit recovery, Avalon High School prides itself on succeeding in this area while also seeing students to graduation. Students interested in learning or specializing in a trade will find opportunities to do so through Avalon’s partnership with LA Trade Tech Community College. By talking technical courses in their high school career, they can earn college credit during their time at Avalon. The school even has an extended-hours program for additional coursework completion, a very popular program. The School of Advanced Transportation and Manufacturing, launched in 2017, is one example of how students can earn credit with LA Trade Tech Community College. Niche areas of study include alternative fuels, auto collision, electronics technology and robotics. Students can also earn elective credits while at Avalon through the school’s partnership with Sharefest. This includes student development opportunities such as community service, extra support for students who need it, leadership development and college preparation.
