GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Going to high school at mira costa was the worst experience i've ever had. Constant bullying. No diversity. The school won't help you when you're being bullied from fear of being sued. Very cliquey, it's almost impossible to make friends there if you're not like everyone else there. Myself and others left the school due to how much bullying occurs. If you don't love lulu lemon, and stanley's don't go here.

A lot of the staff is very friendly, teachers are always very helpful and reasonable regarding the curriculum. I would like to see improved wifi as some areas on campus it is very hard to access the internet.

The best part about costa is the blend of top tier academics and nationally recognized sports. We are consistently among the best (in California or the nation) in numerous sports and we always maintain good gpas and many go off to great colleges. I do feel that the "high school atmosphere" at costa lacks a little. There isn't a lot of school spirit, which leads many of our sports (other than football) to be pretty empty, and I think administration and asb could definitely help out with that.

Mira Costa Highschool is a great school experience to learn different and unique topics for your student. As a student I can tell you that the work load won't be easy but if you strive hard and are determined to reach your goal you will be fine.

Overall, I thought it was good, but the administration is a joke.

Overall, MCHS is a pretty average school with a well-below-average administration. Like anywhere, there are some very good teachers and some not-so-good. When your school is composed of students from families who take school VERY seriously, you are bound to test well (certainly above the state avera...

I spent six years as parent at Mira Costa. As there were challenging times with teachers, the school offers a great opportunity for students with varying interest to find their place. Visual and Performing Arts, Model UN, and core curriculum resulting in a high school score in the State of Californi...
