Opened in 1923 and named after 19th century author and frontiersman, Joaquin Miller Elementary School is a highly rated public school located at 720 East Providencia Avenue in Burbank.
Joaquin Miller Elementary teaches core curriculum classes in math, science, English, reading and social studies. The school also offers an English Learner Program for non-native English speakers to build vocabulary, comprehension and fluency skills.
Joaquin Miller Elementary boasts a Gifted and Talented Enrichment Program for students in fourth and fifth grade and offers a challenging curriculum to advanced learners. Another signature program is the Los Angeles County Outdoor Science School for fifth grade students. On this journey into the outdoors, students and teachers spend five days and four nights away in an informal classroom setting in nature where they learn about plants, animals, ecology and astronomy.
Joaquin Miller also sponsors an annual science fair, which requires students to create a project and display their work. For creatively inclined students, the district sponsors Arts for All, a celebrated program providing instruction in dance, visual arts, music and theater.

My daughter has already graduated from Miller. She has attended Miller School for 6 years, and we have only good and sweet memories left. They have a wonderful teaching staff and a wonderful office staff. They always organize interesting events, they often have concert programs and film screenings....

It was a good school, but the teachers have gone downhill. You are fortunate if you get a good teacher as most of them are not upto the mark.

Not good at all! We are leaving for good! I will never recommend. Find another school in Burbank if you don't want discernation. If you don't care for academics, then it's definitely a great day care. The plaques they have, doesn't mean anything. The administration is definitely doing what they want...
