Established in 1959, Sharp Avenue Elementary is a public school in the Los Angeles Unified School District located at 13800 Pierce Street in Arleta. The school has 680 enrolled students and serves pre-kindergarten through fifth grade primarily in the cities of Arleta and Pacoima.
Sharp’s Academic Program emphasizes science, math, arts, reading, and technology. The art program is an integral part of the school’s curriculum, and each student takes drama and music classes. The school adopted the Eureka Math Program in 2020, meaning that all students take math assessments twice a year to ensure proper placement as well as instruction.
Sharp Elementary has received high praise for its adoption of the Amplify Science Program, which utilizes a unique approach to science by focusing on hands-on investigation and research versus lecture and textbook learning. Not very good overall. They are rude to the kids. They deny the kids the use of the office phone. They don't pay for it. We as tax payers do. If the child attended school that day.
