My experience was great. You won't get a better boarding school experience on the West Coast anywhere else. Just graduated and I can safely say Cate has prepared me for the rest of my life, teaching me to be a scholar and member of the community. The best parts were making memories with my friends through sports, outdoors, or visiting Carp/the local beaches. The only thing I would change is the dining hall food. We need more variety.

My time at Cate was challenging yet life changing. The school is most beloved for its vibrant community culture. As an alumni you really feel connected to the people, place and overall community after leaving. I miss it at times but thankful to have moved on as well since the community can feel quite small and homogenous after some time. Cate would benefit from more diversity, in race and financial background.

Our daughter is finishing up her freshman year at Cate and the school has exceeded all of our expectations. The faculty and support system at the school has been exceptional and we believe our daughter has grown academically and socially because of this unique infrastructure. We look forward to her sophomore year and beyond and very excited to see what other surprises Cate has for us as a family.
